After some deliberation we have decided to discontinue the gallery, which after all gave a very brief idea of the wonderful work our students create and instead concentrate on one student's individual module, this will then be changed each month.

This the first month we are showcasing the last module of Jennifer Strong, who has just completed the 7822 Level 2 Stumpwork course.

Jennifer has consistently delivered beautifully constructed stumpwork, full of imagination and fun. I am delighted to say that Jennifer has now re-enrolled on the level 3 stumpwork course, I am really looking forward to seeing what she creates with this more design led course, I am sure it will be outstanding.

student text~Jennifer says:This course found me absolutely hooked in a new area of needlework. It has given me many new insights into the workings and history of stumpwork.

I have learnt many new stitches, worked with different fabrics and techniques, designs, working colours together and appreciating their usefulness.

I have been introduced to projects, which involved creating all sorts of creatures, figures, architecture, landscapes which were all a delight to work.

Sometimes my imagination has run riot with the samples and assessment pieces I have made, which has been half the fun of the course and fun it has been. I have enjoyed it immensely.

An added bonus for me was that i was able to work at my own speed with no one looking over my shoulder.

For me it has been a wonderful experience. I have achieved so much and I now feel I could adapt almost anything into some form of stumpwork!
